Warning – One Month to Go – MVSA end date in sight

The Department of Infrastructure has recently circulated the latest guidance material as the end of the transition from the Motor Vehicle Standards Act (MVSA) to the Road Vehicle Standards Act (RVSA) transition approached.

HVIA members are reminded that from 1 July vehicles will need to be loaded onto the Register of approved vehicles in order to be registered.

As discussed at the last round of State Committee Meetings, it is important that managers and dealers understand the requirements and meet all of the requirements by the end of June to be confident that they can register vehicles after the RVSA transition finishes.

The latest guidance from the department is available here:

Please read the information on the transitional arrangements page and follow up the links to the detailed guidance notes provided there.

For members who produce Special Purpose Vehicles please note that the ADR requirements on SPV’s are also changing on 1 July 2021 and you should check the guidance material on SPVs to ensure your vehicles remain compliant.

The Department has also released additional guidance material on loading multiple vehicles onto the RAV in a single transaction:

Act now: don’t get caught out after 1 July – it could be expensive.
