HVIA Membership Types

Corporate Ordinary Membership

Corporate Ordinary members are classified into the following categories:

  • Manufacturer / Importer
  • Supplier
  • General

Manufacturer / Importer members are companies primarily engaged in the manufacture, modification and/or importation and national distribution of new heavy vehicles / trailers / bodies and/or new components, equipment and technology in Australia.

Supplier members are companies primarily engaged in the sale and/or modification of new heavy vehicles / trailers / bodies and/or new components, equipment and technology in Australia.

General members are those companies admitted to Corporate membership which do not meet the category requirements above.

Corporate Associate Membership

Corporate Associate members are those companies that are on the periphery of the industry servicing the core membership and the wider heavy vehicle industry in some way. Corporate Associate member categories include:

  • Heavy Vehicle Repairer (Mechanical/Body/Specialist)
  • Transport Operator
  • Engineering Consultant
  • Finance/Insurance/Legal
  • Media
  • Training & Education (RTO, GTO, AAC)
  • Business Software providers
  • General

Corporate Associate Members receive all member benefits of Corporate Ordinary Members but are not eligible to vote at General Meetings.

Full HVIA member services are available to the parent company (head office) and all its wholly owned branches and subsidiaries no matter where they are located in Australia. This means that all staff employed by the Member company and its branches/subsidiaries have full access to the benefits and services that HVIA offer.

Companies applying for HVIA Membership during the Financial Year will have their membership fees calculated on a pro rata basis.

* For businesses headquartered outside of Australia or are part of an international group (formally or informally) must use global employee numbers to calculate the membership fee.

HVIA calculates its membership fees based upon the staff you employ nationally. This means that all staff employed by the Member company and its wholly owned branches/subsidiaries have full access to the benefits and services that HVIA offer.
