HVIA’s May Forum Keeps Members Up To Date

Last week HIVA held its first online member forum for 2024. The HVIA team provided updates on key advocacy, regulatory, technical and policy issues, as well as a complete run-down of the enormously successful TruckShowX event held in Melbourne in May.

Specific topics covered included: recent developments in state-based freight policies; a run-down of the Federal Government’s ‘Net Zero’ decarbonisation roadmap; further developments on HVIA’s advocacy work in powered trailers and trailer wiring; various regulatory updates – ROVER, RVCS, HVNL and Safer Freight Vehicles; and a call for members to submit Vehicle Standards issues.

HVIA also welcomed three guest speakers from the National Transport Commission (NTC) and the Federal Department of Infrastructure and Transport, who presented on regulatory changes to facilitate Australia’s adoption of automated vehicles.

For members unable to attend, a recording of the meeting is available here.

As unveiled earlier this year, two of HVIA’s in-person meetings each year have transitioned to online events, and an annual networking event for all members will be held in each of Queensland, NSW, Victoria and WA.

The next round of Member Forums will return to in-person events held in each state throughout the last two weeks of August. Full details and registration are available on the HVIA events webpage.

HVIA’s member meetings are the best way to ensure you are aware of all the major changes and updates impacting Australia’s heavy vehicle industry.

As always, any employee from any of HVIA’s member organisations are invited to attend.
