SAF-Holland, Dana Showcase LZE Products At TruckShowX

SAF-Holland and Dana will showcase their low- and zero-emissions (LZE) components in TruckShowX’s much-anticipated technical sessions.

The event is set to be the biggest trucking industry decarbonisation show held to date in Australia, building on the enormous interest shown in LZE vehicles and related components at the 2023 Brisbane Truck Show.

Adam Ritzinger, HVIA Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX Program Manager, says axle and driveline technology is a fantastic example of how to take advantage of every single decarbonisation opportunity.

“And so we are pleased to hold a session with SAF-Holland and Dana, two industry leaders in this space,” he says.

“Nemanja Miletic from SAF-Holland will present on their successful energy recovery trailer axle, which has been operating in a local fleet in Australia for some time, and Matthew James from Dana will present the OEM perspective on integration of a whole range of electric axle and driveline technologies.”

Miletic, who joined SAF-Holland Australia 15 years ago after stints with Hendrickson Australia and Iveco Australia, agrees that in “the journey of decarbonisation, every bit counts as there is no ‘silver bullet’ solution that will suit every application”.

To this end, Miletic, who is now Product and Engineering Manager, says “SAF-Holland has pioneered e-axles for heavy-load transport. As a leading global supplier for the commercial vehicle industry, we develop innovative solutions for trailers, for an optimised and resource-friendly world of transport.”

Dana Australia’s Matthew James and SAF-Holland Australia’s Nemanja Miletic will share insights at TruckShowX

James, Dana Australia’s Engineering Manager, brings to TruckShowX more than 15 years’ experience in engineering and management with OEMs in the automotive, motorsport, rail and military vehicle sectors. He has degrees in Aeronautical Engineering and International Automotive Engineering.

“Dana leads the way in the EV commercial drivetrain space and our long-term strategy is focused on the development of system integration; motor, invertor, driveline and energy systems,” he says.

“We take a long-range view of the electrification technologies being implemented for our end-customers, to ensure that we meet their needs not just now, but that they are supported through the whole-of-life of their vehicles.”

To be held May 13-14, 2024 at RACV Cape Schanck Resort in Victoria, TruckShowX will explore LZEV’s and technology, and unpack the interconnected ‘ecosystem’ of equipment, infrastructure, services, regulations, policies, and people that must exist for them to work as a solution.

The two-day event will feature keynote presentations from global leaders in LZEV adoption, supported by practical case studies of local operators leading the decarbonisation effort.

Complementing this will be an expo showcasing the latest low- and zero-emissions vehicles and related technologies and, uniquely, a drive-day opportunity to get behind the wheel of the latest LZEVs.
