HVIA Facilitates Minister’s Visit to Robuk Engineering

HVIA facilitated a recent site visit by Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Senator Carol Brown, to member company Robuk Engineering.

During the visit Robuk Engineering Managing Director James Yerbury, pictured above, spoke of the growth of the business and how it is continuing to invest in young apprentices.

From humble beginnings in a small rural shed back in June 2020, the company has rapidly grown into a major manufacturer of light-weight aluminium grain tippers from its current facility at the Port of Brisbane.

Thanks to a few incredible farming seasons, demand for grain tippers has kept Robuk, like many manufacturers, incredibly busy, with the company producing multiple trailers per week.

“We started with just three staff and a small shed in rural Queensland and we now have approximately 50 employees,” Yerbury says.

Investing in staff has been crucial to Robuk Engineering’s success, with the Brisbane-based company currently employing 16 promising apprentices

“Coming off the back of the drought and the market effects of the COVID pandemic, we’ve witnessed a remarkable uptick in demand for our aluminium tippers – vehicles at the forefront of agricultural and industrial efficiency.

“Investing in our staff is paramount to our success. By nurturing talent through our apprenticeship program, which currently includes 16 promising apprentices, we are not only enhancing individual careers but also fortifying our company’s future.”
