The Judges loved the forward-thinking approach to an emerging issue, which included a comprehensive safety management system, staff training, Safety Operating Procedures, and the investment in specific tools rated against electric shock, signs and barricades to protect BEV work, specific PPE including gloves, face shields, glasses and uniforms to protect the worker.
Scania has invested in mobile gantries to permit safe access to the batteries and electrical isolation points on the roof of Scania BEV buses, which protect the employee from falling from a height, and which have been designed and manufactured to protect against electric shock.
