Feedback Sought On Victorian Freight Plan

The Victorian Government has released a discussion paper seeking input from industry to its planned update for the Victorian Freight Plan which was originally published in 2018.

The discussion paper – which was announced at this week’s TruckShowX by Freight Victoria’s Manager Freight Policy and Strategy Melissa O’Brien – asks for feedback on a range of questions including what has changed since the plan was originally published and what updates are needed to the plan to make sure it stays relevant.

Issues covered include the impact of the pandemic, global instability, climate change and decarbonisation, increasing cost pressures, population and freight growth, the role and priorities for Government, workforce issues and land use planning.

Anyone wishing to provide input can either complete a survey or provide a submission by June 30, 2024.

The responses to the discussion paper will be considered by Government along with further industry consultation prior to drafting the updated freight plan which is due to be released in late 2024.
