Entries Open For Victoria’s Worksafe Awards

Entries are now open for Victoria’s annual WorkSafe Awards which aim to highlight excellence shown by individuals, teams or businesses that go above and beyond to reduce workplace harm or improve outcomes for injured workers.

Nominations are open across the following categories:

  • Commitment to prevention of mental injury in the workplace;
  • Farm safety solution;
  • Health and safety representative of the year;
  • Leading return to work practice;
  • OHS leadership/achievement;
  • Worker return to work achievement; and
  • Workplace health and safety solution of the year.

Andrew Mifsud from Sargeant Transport’s (pictured above) was the joint winner of the Worker Return to Work Achievement Award in 2023.

A long-haul truck driver, Mifsud developed PTSD after witnessing a fatal road crash in December 2022 and felt he could never return to driving trucks. Andrew’s family, employer and health team supported his gradual return to work and retraining as a driver-trainer.

Entries are open until Friday, June 21, 2024 – and can be made here.

Winners will be announced and acknowledged at the awards presentation and dinner in February 2025.
