Women of EV’s Seeks Support to Power Growth

Women of Electric Vehicles Australia and New Zealand (WEV ANZ) is seeking sponsors to help it grow, update its speakers guide, launch new programs and improve gender diversity by raising awareness, education and collecting data.

WEV ANZ was established in 2021 as a chapter of the US-based Women of EVs and represents women from the zero-emission vehicle industry, including heavy vehicles.

It advocates for and support greater gender diversity in the industry and has established a strong speakers guide – a list of women available to speak at conferences and seminars, so that organisations can ensure diversity in their panels and speaker line-ups.

WEV ANZ has more than 150 women+ members and membership is open to both women and men. It has held networking events across Australia and New Zealand, online webinars, and mentoring and coaching programs.

Its leadership team includes IKEA Australia’s Alexandra Kelly (pictured above), climate tech expert Alina Dini, Electric Vehicle Council’s Natalie Thompson, ANU’s Laura Jones, Evie Networks Josie Ashby and Retyna founder Liz Yeaman.

The WEV ANZ speakers guide contains biographies of more than 50 speakers across 17 sub-sectors including charging, fleets and more. This guide was born from an observed lack of women’s representation at EV industry events. It shines a spotlight on the talented women in the EV industry and helps drive the conversation forward and inspires the next generation of leaders.
