HVIA Expands Skills And Training Capability With New Role

HVIA’s services for members in relation to skills, training and workforce development have been expanded with Michael Rose joining the team as National Manager for Skills, Training and Workforce Development.

Michael commenced with HVIA in early October and is based in Melbourne. His previous role was with the Jobs and Skills Council Mining and Automotive Skills Alliance (AUSMASA) where he was instrumental in addressing workforce challenges and promoting industry growth. Prior to that Michael has been an industry trainer, apprentice mentor, technician and is known for his ability to connect people and push for positive change.

HVIA Chief Executive Todd Hacking said “Michael has an extensive background in skills and training – having been the industry consultant for AUSMASA and before that as the National Aftersales Training Manager with Scania. He is a qualified automotive technician which means he has on the ground experience in industry that will be invaluable for HVIA’s advocacy.

“I’m excited to have a full-time resource in this space and I know Michael will excel in consulting with our members and ensuring we are on the front foot in terms of advocacy and services for them.”

Michael’s appointment comes at a crucial time as the heavy vehicle industry faces significant changes and opportunities. His expertise will be key in securing a highly skilled workforce for the future and ensuring our industry’s capacity to deliver innovation.
