HVIA’s Member Forums for Q3 2026 kicked off last week in Western Australia and Queensland, with updates from HVIA staff on advocacy, regulatory and policy matters impacting the industry, and robust discussion amongst attendees on many topical items.
Members in Western Australia set the bar high with a great turnout in the state supported by Scania Australia, which hosted the meeting at its new facility in Hope Valley, south of Perth.
Attendees enjoyed a tour of the state-of-the-art facility supporting Scania’s autonomous mining vehicles, and new battery electric models, on conclusion of the formal agenda items.
At the Queensland meeting, attendees received an update on the National Automated Access System (NAAS) from the Department of Transport and Main Roads. The NAAS is set to revolutionise heavy vehicle access and permit applications. Further details are available in earlier newsletter articles.
This week, the Q3 meetings head to TRS’s New South Wales headquarters in Huntingwood on Wednesday, July 29, before wrapping up at CMV Truck and Bus in Derrimut, for the Victorian meeting the following day.
