The Women’s Network initiative will provide support to females who are part of HVIA member organisations, to feel included in the Heavy Vehicle Industry and want to remain a part of it. Our vision overall is to increase female participation in the heavy vehicle industry, and we are looking forward to working closely with members to achieve this outcome.
The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) 2024 – 2025 report showed that there is still much work to be done to bridge the gap. The publicly available data explorer for this period shows that the number of female CEOs in Transport, Postal and Warehousing was 11%, Machinery Operators and Drivers, 12%, and Technicians and Trades workers, just 7%.

The network will also aim to support member organisations by sharing the success stories of our industry colleagues and how they have crafted programs which deliver results and support increase female participation. We will connect like minded members, host events, collaborate with industry partners and encourage female members to participate in our industry.
The objective of the HVIA Women’s Network is not to compete with or replace any existing initiatives, but to fill gaps in the current industry offerings which may at times be limited in their ability to service our specific membership base. HVIA have already worked closely in the past attending events or supporting groups such as Trades Women Australia (TWA), Transport Women Australia (TWAL), Women of Zero Emissions Vehicles (WoZEV+), National Women in Transport and more. We look forward to continuing to work closely with our industry colleagues and directly with our members to increase the number of Women working in the Heavy Vehicle Industry in the future.

Originating from back in the US, she made the wonderful decision to study Mechanical Engineering at UNSW and has been in Australia ever since. She’s been in the industry since 2021 and joined the Women’s Network to help foster connections, encourage diversity, and showcase the wide range of opportunities available within the industry.
Stephani Deby
Project Co-ordinator, Zenobē ANZ
Stephani has seven years’ industry experience and holds a Master’s in Globalisation and a Project Management Certification. Based in Zenobē’s Canberra office, she works with the modelling and commercial teams to develop tender and proposal solutions and manages the assurance review process from proposal through project closure. Her experience spans sustainable energy projects, including e-bus and charging infrastructure delivery for the G20 Summit 2022 in Indonesia.
Kirsty Dragon
State Manager QLD, NT & PNG, JOST
Kirsty leads JOST’s business operations across Queensland, driving sales growth and strengthening relationships with key customers and industry partners. She works closely with OEMs, transport operators, and distributors to deliver customer-focused solutions and expand market opportunities. She also oversees state performance, supports her team, and ensures business objectives are achieved through strong leadership and strategic execution.
Kanani Draper
National Development & Roadside Operations Manager, NTI
Kanani Draper is the National Development & Roadside Operations Manager at NTI, with two decades of experience supporting and developing capability within Australia’s transport and heavy vehicle sectors. Grounded in a philosophy of continuous improvement and respect for people, she specialises in translating complex operational environments into meaningful business and community outcomes. Kanani is deeply committed to mentoring and collaborative leadership, using genuine connection to bring people together and build lasting partnerships.

A member of the Heavy Vehicle Industry Women’s Network Advisory Board, she is passionate about championing diversity and inclusion, and inspiring others to see the sector as a place of opportunity for all.

As Business Manager of Airtec Corporation, Jacinta leads a team delivering technology solutions that improve safety, compliance and efficiency across the transport industry. Beyond Airtec, she serves as a Director on the Board of Transport Women Australia Limited (TWAL), supporting initiatives that empower women across the industry, and is known for leading with authenticity and building strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Lora Miller is the On-Highway Product Manager for Asia Pacific at Cummins, supporting heavy-duty transport product launches, channel readiness, and customer value initiatives. She has more than 30 years’ experience across technology, project, commercial, and product roles, and holds a Heavy Rigid truck licence.

Sustainability Project Manager, Team Global Express
From coal mines and power stations to electric trucks and sustainability, my career has taken some unexpected turns. A lifelong horse lover I gained my truck licence at 18 and now spend my days helping decarbonise Australia’s transport industry while championing opportunities for women in a sector where diverse perspectives make us stronger. These days the stilettos have been retired in favour of sparkly sneakers, but the steel caps and cowboy boots still make regular appearances.
