The new ‘Master Code’, recognised under the Heavy Vehicle National Law, was released by the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator on January 21, 2026, and is bringing in a significant maturity uplift across the supply chain industry when considering what is reasonably practicable for improving the safety of road transport activities.
To understand the implications for industry, Aaron Louws, Supply Chain Technical Manager at CoRsafe, is once again teaming up with legal expert Nathan Cecil, Partner at Holding Redlich, to help unpack the new Code in a free webinar titled ‘The New Master Code, and what it means for you’.
Running over 60 minutes (plus Q&A), the webinar will explore what’s different in the final version, what changed from the draft, and how businesses might use the new Code as guidance to better understand their legal obligations, improve heavy vehicle safety and reduce risk to the public.
In particular, it aims to translate complex requirements into practical messages, like how the shift towards a more role-agnostic approach is going to work, what the focus on a broad range of hazards and risks may mean for existing practices, and how to make sense of the 40+ activities and 500+ controls without having a Master’s Degree in Business and Commercial Law.
Topics to be covered include:
> Overview of the changes to the Master Code;
> How these changes may influence the way you view your transport activities and manage risks;
> Legal implications explained in plain language;
> Real-world application: What you need to do to align your business with the new approach; and
> The shared nature of the Primary Duty and how this impacts your business and supply chain partners.
If you operate heavy vehicles, send goods, receive goods, load trucks, unload trucks, pack goods, employ drivers, or engage third-party freight businesses, this is one not to miss!
The webinar will be held on Wednesday, February 18 from 11:00am-12:00pm ADST. Register here using your exclusive link here.
