New Trailer Integrates Safety Features

Specialist truck body and trailer manufacturer Austruck X recently unveiled the “Safety Integrated Trailer”, an Australian-designed and Australian-made innovation engineered to make loading and load restraint operations safer and more efficient for operators.

Developed in partnership with Metropolitan Express Transport Services and Westkon Precast, the trailer aims to address one of the most persistent risks when securing loads on trailer decks: working at height.

The patented trailer design features full-length deployable safety platforms; automatic handrails and stair access; protected walkways for load restraint activities; multiple tie-down points; and improved safety without compromising payload capability.

By integrating safety directly into the trailer design, operators can complete their tasks from a protected working environment rather than an exposed trailer deck edge, the Dandenong South-based company claims.

“This project began with a simple belief: drivers deserve better safety solutions than procedures alone. By engineering safety directly into the trailer, we’ve created a practical solution that addresses a real industry challenge,” the company adds.
