FAW Trucks Australia has appointed RGM Maintenance as its Brisbane dealer, marking a key step in the brand’s Australian rollout.
The appointment strengthens the Chinese maker’s presence in Queensland and supports its broader strategy to build a capable, service-led dealer network across Australia.
Ben Wang, Chairman of FAW Trucks Australia, says the partnership reflects the company’s focus on practical, local support.
“We are focused on working with partners who know their local market and can support customers day to day,” he says.
“RGM brings strong experience in Queensland and a clear focus on service, which is important as we continue to build our network.”
RGM will act as the primary dealer partner in Brisbane, with directors Russell Newman and Greg Jackson leading the relationship locally.
Newman says the decision to partner with FAW is based on the capability of the brand and its relevance to the local market.
“FAW’s track record across multiple markets, and the way it has grown over time, gave us confidence in the brand,” he says.
“The product range also allows us to support a broad mix of customers, from lighter applications through to heavy-duty work.”
Newman says the timing aligns with current demand across the Australian trucking sector.
“There is clear demand for trucks that deliver value without stepping away from build quality,” he says.
“We see FAW as a practical option for customers who are looking closely at total cost of ownership.”
FAW brings more than 70 years of truck manufacturing experience, with Australia identified as a priority market as part of its international growth.
RGM expects the brand to gain traction across several segments, initially including local distribution, tippers and agitators.
Its first model available locally is the J7 Euro 6 prime mover, available in a 6×4 configuration and offered in two horsepower outputs: 600hp (25,000kg GVM / 90,000kg GCM) and 560hp (25,000kg GVM / 70,000kg GCM).
“Over time, there is also potential in linehaul and the rental market as the brand becomes more established,” Newman adds.
Further dealer appointments are expected to be announced as the network develops.
