The second and final round of HVIA’s in-person Member Forums for 2025 kicked-off last week.
Queensland opened the series with Harrison Hunkin, HVIA’s National Manager for Partnerships & Member Engagement hosting a diverse set of members at HVIA’s head office in Bluestone Rocks. New South Wales followed next with HVIA’s Chief Advocacy Officer, Dr Adele Lausberg, leading a committed contingent of local members at the ZF Services Australia Blacktown site.
Members in attendance discussed a wide range of topical areas including:
- HVIA’s recent advocacy activities and submissions across a wide range of technical and policy areas impacting members
- a wrap-up of the Brisbane Truck Show, and a look forward to coming events – HVIA’s National Awards and Gala Dinner in December, and TruckShowX for 2026
- national regulatory updates – ROVER, RVCS, the HVNL and the ADR review report (pending its release)
- a presentation on the upcoming changes to the Heavy Vehicle National Law in key areas of mass and dimensions limits from Aaron De Rozario of the National Transport Commission.
Queensland attendees were also treated to a special presentation from The Industry School’s CEO Lee Smith. Lee gave an overview of the Industry School’s unique approach and future plans for training initiatives applicable to the heavy vehicle sector.
Victorian and West Australian members can still register for the upcoming events in their respective states here – https://hvia.asn.au/member-forums/
As always, all staff from any of HVIA’s member organisations are welcome to attend. Attendees consistently enjoy the chance to get up to speed on the important developments in their industry, as well as the informal networking with colleagues and friends over morning tea.
