HVIA Hosts Apprenticeship Info Forum

Next Tuesday HVIA will host a Bus, Truck and Trailer Manufacturing Apprenticeship Information Forum organised by Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTAQ).

MTAQ is an Industry Skills Advisory (ISA) organisation for the automotive industry, charged by the Queensland Government with engaging with employers and industry stakeholders to provide advice and intelligence about current and emerging industry direction, regional skills needs and training solutions, job growth and employment opportunities.

To be held at HVIA’s head office at 2/115 Bluestone Circuit, Seventeen Mile Rocks from 2:00-3:00pm on Tuesday, December 3, the forum is specifically tailored to heavy vehicle manufacturing companies who would like to know more about the apprenticeship program.

The forum has been prompted by recent industry engagements which found some employers are not using the apprenticeship system.

It will provide an overview of the apprenticeship system, including how skills are developed for staff and the role of the apprenticeship system in Queensland in building future skills for the industry. It will also explain the role of TAFE Queensland in the overall eco-system.

In addition, attendees will also have the chance to raise any issues, concerns and barriers to pursuing apprenticeship pathways in their business.

The MTAQ ISA is partnering with HVIA and the Queensland Bus Industry Council to provide the forum for interested bus, truck and trailer manufacturing companies.
