Kicking off a packed agenda of events for 2026 will be the quarter one round of HVIA Member Forums, held in capital cities around the country.
As always, the Forums will cover the latest developments in regulations, policy and technical matters, and give all members an update on HVIA’s activities and provide valuable networking opportunities.
Since the last round of meetings in November, the HVIA team has been busy providing input to regulators on a range of technical and non-technical matters, ranging from industry productivity and the Heavy Vehicle National Law, to Performance Based Standards, and a myriad of Australian Design Rules issues.
While many of these topics have been covered in Talk the Torque, if you want to find out the latest on HVIA’s advocacy and technical work – or simply want to have your say – come along to a meeting held in a city near you.
The upcoming round of meetings will also delve into HVIA’s Working Group activities, which were again expanded late last year to a total of eight active working groups, which are each notching up wins on technical matters relevant to members.
Additionally, HVIA submitted a record number of five technical items to the Federal Department of Infrastructure’s Vehicle Standards Consultation Forum (VSCF) which will be held in Canberra in early February. An update on the Department’s activities will be included in the Member Forum agenda.
The HVIA team is in the process of finalising the venues and agenda, and will publicise the details in Talk the Torque over the coming weeks. The Sydney Member Forum will include an exciting local site visit, to be announced soon!
