Did you know that HVIA has a series of Technical Working Groups across a diverse range of industry needs and componentry? From lighting to braking systems, telematics to heavy vehicle modifications, tyres, powered trailers and more, we are covering key topics which effect the heavy vehicle industry in Australia.
Our Working Groups are designed to focus on key industry topics and work with members and stakeholders to determine proactive solutions, reduce red tape, and improve safety and productivity outcomes for industry.
If you are a member and wish to join a working group, you can find a list of all of the HVIA working groups here. Each working group has been assigned a technical lead, so simply email the group lead and request to be included.
The Working Groups meet as regularly as required to discuss key topics and issues. HVIA works with members to put together proposals or submissions to effect change, accelerate priorities on key topics and come up with practical solutions for our industry.
We have found that ministers and regulators are keener to assist us when we can provide a pathway to change, ensure that risks are managed and that key stakeholders agree with proposals.
These groups drive meaningful outcomes for industry and for members are a key benefit of having HVIA membership.
We are very excited to formalise our Working Group offering and welcome member suggestions on any other Working Groups missing from the list which you may like to see in future.
Participation in Working Groups is open to any member, from any HVIA member organisation. You do not need to be an ‘active’ member of a Working Group in order to join – many group members find the greatest benefit is simply being informed about changes in topic that the group has as its focus.
If you are not, but wish to become a member of HVIA, we’d love to have you. Fill in the member application form on the website or contact one of our friendly team who are happy to answer questions or assist in anyway. There are many benefits to being a member, and we are constantly reviewing our offerings and how we can best support our industry.
