Truck Week: Supporting Customers’ People

With Truck Week 2026 now firmly on the radar, we’re encouraging HVIA members to start thinking about how you might take part – and how you might support your customers to recognise and involve their workforce during Truck Week in ways that are practical, meaningful and easy to deliver.

Truck Week returns May 11-18, 2026 as a nationwide celebration of the people, innovation and professionalism that drive Australia’s heavy vehicle, road freight transport and logistics industries.

First staged alongside the record-breaking 2025 Brisbane Truck Show, Truck Week 2026 is about the work that happens every day in depots, factories, workshops, yards and on the road – and the people who do it.

The goal for Truck Week is simple: shine a light on the everyday work our industry does so well, through activities that are local, authentic and low-friction.

Low-Friction Ways To Support Customers On The Ground
Members have already shared early ideas for non-sales, relationship-building activities that focus on people and workplaces, including:

> Supporting a depot BBQ, morning tea or employee recognition activity at a customer site;

> Helping a customer run a short toolbox talk or team check-in during the working day;

> Providing a Truck Week gift pack that recognises drivers, technicians and operational staff;

> Supporting simple in-house activities for customer teams in depots, factories or workshops; and

> Hosting customers and their teams at TruckShowX 2026 to explore practical innovation that supports real-world operations.

With a little early planning, even small, on-site activities can make a meaningful impact.

Wellbeing As One Option
For customers looking to focus on people and wellbeing, the Healthy Heads in Trucks & Sheds Event Kit offers a practical, ready-made template that can be used during Truck Week.

The kit is particularly relevant for R U OK in Trucks & Sheds Day on May 12 (link: https://truckweek.com.au/events/r-u-ok-in-trucks-sheds), but can be adapted for use at any point during the week. Where members support customers using the Healthy Heads Event Kit, activities should be customer-led, voluntary and non-promotional, with members assisting delivery rather than directing participation.

Registering Events – Including Private, On-Site Activities
Truck Week event registration is already open, and members are encouraged to register all activities on the national calendar – including private, internal or invite-only events held in workplaces.

Registering events helps build a national picture of how Truck Week is being celebrated across the country, particularly the many activities that take place behind the scenes in depots, workshops and yards. Events can be listed as private if required; public promotion is optional.

Save The Date: May 11-18, 2026
More Truck Week resources, toolkits and ideas will continue to be released in the lead-up to May.

As always, events can be as simple or as ambitious as you choose. Whether you’re supporting a customer activity, recognising their workforce, or doing something for your own team, every event contributes to the national Truck Week story.
