Heavy vehicle fleet maintenance and repair company, TRUCK TECH, has announced the appointment of automotive industry executive Shane Cox to the newly created role of General Manager, Operations.
With more than two decades of senior leadership roles across large businesses including Bridgestone and Beaurepaires, Cox (pictured above) joins TRUCK TECH from ARB Corporation. As State Manager for Victoria and Tasmania at Australia’s leading manufacturer and distributor of 4WD accessories, he oversaw sales and operations across 10 company owned locations and 13 privately owned stores.
He was previously the General Manager of Bridgestone Australia’s Lube Mobile. Over four years, he grew the fleet business by 30 per cent, expanded the team to 356 operating out of 21 sites and became a truly national service business in Australia.
At TRUCK TECH Cox will play a key role in scaling the business as it continues its ambitious growth journey. Reporting directly to CEO and founder Barry Saad, his focus will be on ensuring that as the business grows, services continue to be delivered in a safe, compliant and high-quality manner, following the “TRUCK TECH WAY.”
He will take responsibility for day-to-day service delivery across all branches, field service units and onsite customer locations.
Saad says: “To have an industry leader of Shane’s calibre join us is a real endorsement of TRUCK TECH’s vision. Shane has ‘been there and done that’ when it comes to growing very successful companies in the automotive space. His deep industry experience, great connections and considerable business knowledge will be hugely beneficial as we scale our company in Australia,” he says.
“Most importantly, he shares our commitment to our customers to maintain, repair and deliver safe, compliant and reliable heavy vehicles, operating at peak performance, with minimal downtime.”
Cox adds: “Over a decade ago, I led a team supplying truck tyres across Australia, and then I led a company that scaled its maintenance operations across the country. I am excited to be able to use that knowledge to help Barry and the team scale TRUCK TECH.
“The company is already a leader in heavy vehicle fleet maintenance, growing quickly, and delivering exactly what large transport operators need: top quality maintenance and outstanding customer service.
“The clincher for me was the team’s ambitious vision to transform the sector and its laser focus on people. I look forward to helping accelerate the business as it enters its next stage of growth.”
Headquartered in Chipping Norton, NSW, TRUCK TECH – a HVIA member – provides services to many of Australia’s largest transport companies, delivering proactive, data-driven, safety-led maintenance solutions for fleets of 50 or more heavy vehicles.
The company operates four state-of-the-art workshops across NSW, Queensland and Victoria, provides on-site support at customer locations, and runs a fleet of more than 50 service vehicles offering breakdown and mobile maintenance along the eastern seaboard.
