Mark the date. On Thursday, December 3, the heavy vehicle industry will come together at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre for the 2026 HVIA National Awards Gala Dinner – a night to celebrate the people, projects and businesses driving our industry forward. Tickets are now officially on sale here.
Behind the scenes, a panel of 27 judges is now working through this year’s nominations across all nine award categories, and by every account it is not an easy job.
From product and safety innovation through to the apprentices, mentors and businesses shaping the industry’s future workforce, the calibre and diversity of entries this year has made choosing finalists a genuinely difficult task – a strong sign of just how much talent and effort exists across our membership.
HVIA CEO Todd Hacking says members won’t have to wait long to see the fruits of the judges’ labour. “It is always exciting to see the finalists revealed,” he says. “It is such a great showcase of the talent and ingenuity that our industry is blessed by, right across our membership and from every corner of Australia.”
Finalists will begin to be revealed in Talk the Torque from Wednesday, September 23, with the full list building toward the big reveal on the night.
The evening will also carry extra significance, with around 15 member companies being recognised for reaching 10, 25 or 50 years of HVIA membership – a reminder of the loyalty and longevity that underpins our industry.
Beyond the awards themselves, the Gala Dinner remains one of the biggest networking nights on the heavy vehicle industry calendar, drawing members from every state together with their industry peers for an evening of celebration, connection and conversation.
And with the 60th Anniversary Brisbane Truck Show set for next May, there will be plenty to talk about as the industry prepares for that milestone event.
Keep an eye on Talk the Torque from September 23 for finalist announcements, and stay tuned for booking details for what promises to be a night to remember.
