Jost Werke SE, a leading global supplier of safety-critical systems for commercial vehicles, has acquired Hyva, a renowned global technology leader in hydraulic solutions.
The German-based company says the acquisition marks a significant milestone in its growth journey, strengthening its position as a leading supplier for on-highway and off-highway applications in the commercial vehicle industry.
Founded near Frankfurt 1952 as a manufacturer of ball-bearing turntables, over the past 70+ years Jost has transitioned into a global company with more than 25 locations worldwide, including Australia.
Its product portfolio includes fifth wheel couplings, landing gears, ball bearing turntables, kingpins, container locks, truck and trailer axles, towing hitches, drawbar eyes and drawbars, steering systems, axle suspensions and more.
Hyva is a leading producer of front-end tipping cylinders, and supplies a full range of double acting cylinders, container lifting systems (hookloaders and skiploaders), waste handling solutions (refuse collection bodies and compactors), and truck-mounted cranes.
Founded in 1979 and headquartered in the Netherlands, Hyva operates in more than 110 countries with over 3,000 employees and 14 production facilities in Brazil, China, Germany, India, Italy and Mexico.
Jost Werke SE CEO Joachim Dürr says the addition of the Hyva brand strengthens its business structure, customer base and market positioning.
“Together, we will expand our global footprint, enrich our portfolio for transport and agriculture businesses, and boost our potential in the infrastructure industry,” he adds.
Hyva CEO Alex Tan says the acquisition represents an “exciting new chapter” for the company.
“Our shared commitment to advancing technology and providing reliable and innovative solutions for transportation, agriculture, construction, mining and environmental applications creates a strong foundation for mutual success.
“Together, we will drive growth and deliver even greater value to our customers globally,” he says.
In addition to expanding its product portfolio, Jost says the acquisition enhances its regional presence, particularly in Asia and the Americas, as well as the market segments it services.
