HVIA Members Discuss Revised Pavement Loading Standards

HVIA members have discussed the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator’s proposed changes to the Pavement Horizontal Loading Standard (PHLS) in the Performance Based Standards (PBS) scheme.

HVIA Chief Technical Officer Adam Ritzinger held a member webinar on Tuesday 1 September, which explored and discussed aspects of the NHVR’s consultation paper. A recording is available.

Member feedback received during the webinar and separately via e-mail has been collated into a (short) submission, a draft of which was sent to three of HVIA’s Working Groups yesterday – the PBS Working Group, the Trailer Manufacturer Working Group, and the Tyre and Wheel Technology Working Group, together reaching over 130 members.

If you did not receive that email, and you would like to be part of this consultation or one of the listed Working Groups, please contact HVIA Chief Technical Officer Adam Ritzinger at a.ritzinger@hvia.asn.au.

HVIA has received a short extension from the NHVR and plans to submit its response by Friday 18 September.
