This week draws to a close Greg Forbes’ nine-year stint at HVIA. CEO Todd Hacking says Greg has been a dedicated staff member, even leaving his family and moving to Melbourne to ensure a HVIA presence in Victoria in its infancy.
During his tenure, Greg’s passion, dedication and service has been instrumental to HVIA doubling its membership, improving its relationships with regulators and government decision-makers, and cementing its reputation as a trusted voice of industry.
All the while, he has worked hard to increase our engagement and strengthen our governance around HVIA’s advocacy and policy positions. His tenure has seen huge change with new legislative instruments in the Road Vehicle Standards Act and the amendments to the Heavy Vehicle National Law.
Not to mention his stella management of the Hall 4 Loading Dock come Brisbane Truck Show!
Rounding out a career, which has seen an immeasurable contribution to road transport and the heavy vehicle industry – including the behind-the-scenes work to establish the NHVR, do not be surprised to see Greg offer his services in the consulting space, such is his passion for the sector and his inability to fully wind down.
We thank Greg for his tireless efforts as a full-time employee and do hope the increased flexibility enables some more travel, time with his family, the odd neat scotch and some more time in the kitchen making curry.
