The Department of Infrastructure has outlined planned changes to the Register of Approved Vehicles (RAV) website in the New Year as well as updating guidance on ROVER 9.2.
In early 2024 the Department released a new RAV search page to enable it to handle Safer Freight Vehicles. The search page has been running in parallel with the original search page since its launch and the department has been progressively updating the links on its website to point to the new search page.
Now that the Safer Freight Vehicles package has been implemented the Department is planning to decommission the old search page on January 20, 2025 and automatically redirect searches to the new page. This is part of the Department’s move to a new technology platform and the decommissioning of systems that run on the old platform.
As part of this process the XML generator tool will also be decommissioned but the Department has committed to continuing to accept XML files for RAV submissions. Any users who still use the XML generator can move to the RAV submission form in ROVER which has been available since September.
In addition, the Department has updated the ROVER release 9.2 webpage with updated guidance and videos following the successful release of ROVER 9.2 on November 27.
