ARENA Allocate $100M For HV EV Adoption

The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has opened a new round of funding under its Driving the Nation Fund focused on trucks, charging, and innovation. The fund provides $500 million to invest in cheaper and cleaner transport.

ARENA has allocated $100 million towards supporting demonstration and deployment of heavy vehicles, charging solutions and other innovations supporting update of BEVs.

It is focusing specifically on:

> Lowering the cost barrier to adoption of BEV trucks;

> Addressing the operational barriers for the adoption of BEV trucks;

> Addressing the lack of shared charging infrastructure for heavy BEVs;

> Reducing the need for costly upgrades related to onsite charging; and

> At-scale uptake and integrations of BEVs.

Reach out to ARENA through the transport@arena.gov.au inbox to initiate discussions regarding potential projects and read more on the website here.

ARENA will also host a virtual information session on Tuesday, November 19, 2024 at 2:00pm AEDT to provide an overview of the new focus areas and the Driving the Nation Program, with an opportunity for HVIA members to ask questions.

Further details will be provided closer to the event for registered attendees. Register your attendance online.
