Top Apprentice Relishes Award Reward

The NTI team – led by Heads of Claims Operations Kanani Draper – hosted 2025 HVIA Heavy Vehicle Industry Apprentice of the Year Chalee Hollandrose from Cummins South Pacific at the 2026 Gold Coast 500 held on the weekend.

The all-expenses paid trip was a key reward for the apprentice heavy diesel mechanic taking out the top apprenticeship gong in last year’s awards, sponsored by Australia’s leading specialist transport industry insurer.

Chalee, who travelled all the way from Port Hedland in Western Australia to attend the event, described the whole weekend as simply “an amazing experience”.

“I really want to thank NTI, Truck Assist and Walkinshaw Garage for gifting me this opportunity,” she says.

“Winning Apprentice of the Year has opened up so many experiences for me this year, and it’s definitely an industry that I’m really proud to be in.

“I strongly encourage any apprentice to take that jump and apply for what you think you deserve, because who knows where it can get you.
