Tickets Still On Sale For HVIA National Awards Dinner

Join colleagues and friends for this once-a-year special occasion to celebrate some of the heavy vehicle industry’s great achievers and achievements of the past 12 months

More than 200 key decision makers will gather on Friday night at the 2023 HVIA National Awards Gala Dinner to celebrate the heavy vehicle industry’s achievements, innovations, commitment to community, and focus on safety within their workplaces as well as the equipment and technology they supply.

The gala event will be held at the home of the Brisbane Truck Show, the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, from 6.30pm-11.30pm. Tickets are still available for purchase here.

Winners will be announced for each of five categories: National Apprentice of the Year; Peter Langworthy Future Leader; Community Leadership; Product Innovation; and Safety Innovation.

HVIA Chief Executive Officer Todd says the special occasion will celebrate some of the great achievers and achievements of the past 12 months.

“This is a great opportunity to meet up with colleagues and industry peers, even if you aren’t involved in the awards nominations,” he says.

“Every year we honoured to witness more of our members’ extraordinary innovation and ingenuity being revealed.

“That is along with the joy it brings us to recognise some amazing young industry people at the start of what we expect to be a long and fulfilling career in the heavy industry.

“I hope as many of our members as possible will join us for this well-deserved celebration.”

The Gala Awards are also an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the industry and the work it does each day, he adds.

“It is important on nights like these to remember that [freight] it is not just a seven-letter word; it’s food, it’s sanitisation, it’s essential fuels, it’s equipment for our hospitals, parts for our machines, the construction materials that build roads, schools, and our shelter – literally the clothes on our backs.

“And whether your role is making a truck or a trailer, selling it, repairing it, making a component or piece of technology to make the task safer or more efficient, we all play a vital role,” Hacking says.

The 2023 HVIA Gala Awards Dinner is made possible through the support of Principal Partners NTI and Truck Assist, Category Sponsors Caltex, Geotab, Wurth and Langworth Family, and Event Partners Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and TAFE Queensland.
