The Department of Infrastructure has announced that organisations wishing to register as a testing facility under the Road Vehicle Standards Act (RVSA) are able to submit applications from Wednesday 6 May 2020.
The Department is seeking to stagger applications and is asking that only urgent applications be submitted at this time.
The test reports from approved testing facilities will not be required until the Department begins receiving applications for component type approvals in the third quarter of 2020.
However, registering as a testing facility will allow test reports you have produced and registered in the existing Road Vehicle Certification System (RVCS) to also be recognised under the new legislation.
To apply for a testing facility approval under the new Road Vehicle Standards legislation, please visit the department’s new IT system, ROVER.
For further information on testing facilities and how to apply using ROVER, please visit the Department’s website.
