ROADBOSS’s Summer Issue is out now – our milestone eighth edition marking our first two years of publication.
What started out as a germ of an idea to fill a gap in the market for a coffee table-style magazine filled with cracking yarns on the characters that form the backbone of Australia’s trucking industry has far exceeded our expectations, both critically and commercially.
Critically, testament to the uniqueness of ROADBOSS is the loads of incredibly positive feedback we receive as each issue hits readers’ desks – from emails to phone calls and, occasionally, long-form written letters from old-school truckies.
Typical of the response is this one received from the owner of a mid-sized trucking company who happened to pick up a copy of our Spring Issue while visiting the PACCAR Australia factory in Bayswater: “What an exceptional magazine you produce; the stories and photography are simply the best, and your team should be proud!”
That we are! While we said our previous issue was our strongest yet, it’s arguably bettered by our latest edition, which is our most-complete, and most-ambitious, instalment to date, jam-packed full of epic yarns about the vital role heavy vehicles play in all aspects of Australian life – all illustrated with exquisite photography.

From Harrison Hunkin’s epic journey across Europe hauling some special cargo – two of Aussie Olympian Edwina Tops-Alexander’s priceless horses to the Longines Global Champions Tour event in Rome, to Thomas Wielecki’s adventure to remote Cooper Creek to capture the incredible logistical effort in transporting livestock across the flood-ravaged Birdsville Track, to Cobey Bartels epic – and heart-warming – journey shifting a classic home from flood-ravaged Lismore in northern NSW to higher ground with a convoy of jet-black Mack Super-Liners, this is one for the ages!
Commercially, ROADBOSS has also far exceeded expectations.
Starting off with strong support from 10 foundation partners including NTI, PACCAR, Daimler Truck, Volvo Group, CMV, Penske and Geotab, we now boast the support of an amazing 23 partners, including Truckline, Freighter Group, The Drake Group, Hino, Brigade Electronics, HERE Technologies, Wurth and, most recently, Cummins and Viva Energy (the latter two which we’ll formally welcome onboard from our next issue).
We cannot thank these organisations enough for their incredible support in backing the ROADBOSS vision.
And we’re not resting on our laurels. As well as continuing to deliver what we reckon is the best trucking magazine in Australia, the ROADBOSS crew is exploring growth opportunities beyond the core print magazine, especially expanding our video offering which has already proved a massive hit, with our first seven productions garnering almost 600,000 views on YouTube alone.
