Nathan Usher elected as new HVIA President

Nathan Usher of Cummins South Pacific was elected as Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia’s President today.

The election took place today at an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) called by HVIA Directors subsequent to Mr Peter Langworthy’s resignation in November 2017.

John Drake (The Drake Group) was elected unopposed to the position of Vice-President.

HVIA Chief Executive Todd Hacking said the election of the two industry leaders will further enhance the capability and strength of the industry association.

“We are delighted to welcome Nathan and John to these leadership positions. They both bring with them a wealth of experience and an understanding of our industry’s opportunities and challenges,” Mr Hacking said.

“With our member base growing rapidly across the country, we must ensure we have the right leadership mix to achieve our obejective of a safe, prosperous and productive heavy vehicle industry .”

Mr Hacking said the organisation has already established itself as having the strength and capacity to be a leader in its field. 

“This will continue as we strive to create value for our members.

“We want our members’ businesses to grow, to be prosperous, to adopt sensible/best practice regulations, to lead in innovation and achieve further success.”

John Drake said he was flattered to have been elected as an HVIA office bearer.

“I’m very happy to have been nominated and to accept this honour,” he said.

Nathan Usher said he is privileged to be given the opportunity to serve HVIA members as their association’s President. 

“I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank my fellow Board Directors, all of whom are volunteers, for their time, their dedication, and their insightful contributions,” he said.

“And most importantly thank you to our members for their participation and ongoing support.
