HVIA Unveils Sustainability Guide

HVIA today launched its heavy-vehicle-specific Moving Forward Sustainability Guide at South Central Trucks in Adelaide, alongside Green Industries SA, HVIA members and industry stakeholders.

The guide is designed to help HVIA members navigate sustainability with confidence. It explains key sustainability terminology, outlines recent policy developments and clarifies reporting obligations.

Crucially, it also showcases real-world case studies from HVIA members who are already improving circularity and reducing their carbon emissions.

HVIA Chief Executive Todd Hacking says the guide is intended to be a practical, go-to resource for industry.

“Our goal is for this guide to become a one-stop reference that helps members navigate what is a rapidly evolving and increasingly complex space,” he says.

Green Industries SA Chief Executive Josh Wheeler highlights the importance of working closely with industry to drive meaningful change.

“We know the heavy vehicle sector faces unique challenges when it comes to emissions reduction. That is why we were keen to partner with HVIA to deliver a guide that gives members the tools, knowledge and confidence to take action,” he adds.

The launch of the guide represents the first stage of the Moving Forward Sustainability Program, funded by Green Industries SA. As part of the program, HVIA’s South Australian members will now be invited to a series of free workshops, delivered by 2XE, the author of the guide.

Participants will also be offered one-on-one support to maximise practical outcomes and on-the-ground uptake.
