As we close out another membership year, I want to take the opportunity to thank HVIA members for your continued support, contribution and confidence in your industry association.
The 2025-26 year has been another important period of growth and delivery for HVIA, and I encourage you to read our latest report card, which showcases the breadth of work being undertaken by the HVIA team on behalf of members and the wider heavy vehicle industry.

It is a noteworthy set of operational achievements, bolstered by new senior personnel in key areas as HVIA continues to grow its capability, profile and influence.
I was also delighted to see the results of our latest Member Sentiment Survey. Compared to our first survey in 2024, members rated HVIA more strongly across our key metrics. Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete the survey. I read every word of your feedback, and the team remains deeply committed to continuous improvement.
This work is being delivered in the context of HVIA’s new Strategic Plan 2025-2028, which is guiding our continued growth and organisational evolution.
In the next 12 months, members can look forward to the launch of a brand-new data report, which is now imminent. This will sit alongside an important piece of national research from an internationally acclaimed firm, spelling out the economic contribution and importance of our industry. Together, these projects will further strengthen HVIA’s advocacy positioning and provide members with valuable new insights.
We will also be putting plans in place for the 60th anniversary Brisbane Truck Show in 2027, which promises to be another incredible and important event for our industry, particularly in the current economic and policy environment.
At the same time, our technical and policy advocacy will continue to shift to a more proactive footing. Through our new working groups, HVIA members will continue to lead policy discussions, not merely respond to them.
Our next major organisational touchpoint will be the HVIA AGM, which is set for 29 October in Melbourne. With any luck, it will be held at the new Industry School campus, which will include an embedded Automotive Academy. This is exactly the kind of initiative that helps raise the profile and attraction of our next-generation trade workforce.
The HVIA team works hard to deliver value for members as we set about achieving our purpose: to promote and advocate for an innovative, safe, productive and sustainable heavy vehicle industry.
We cannot do this without the loyal and ongoing support of our members. Thank you sincerely for your membership, your feedback, your contribution to our policy work, your attendance at our events and your continued commitment to strengthening this industry.
As always, I welcome your feedback and advice.
