HVIA is excited to announce the appointment of Aaron Johnstone as our new Chief Advocacy Officer, effective immediately.
Aaron brings to the critical role more than 30 years’ experience as a strategic public policy and industry association leader shaping economic, regulatory and industry outcomes across government, business and peak industry groups.
From 2010 to 2023 he was Queensland State Director of Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia (CCCA), the peak national industry association for Australia’s heavy construction materials sector, including pre-mixed concrete, quarries and cement facilities. Prior to that, Aaron was Policy and Public Affairs Manager at Australian Industry Group’s Queensland division.
HVIA CEO Todd Hacking says Aaron is eminently qualified to take on this crucial role. “Aaron and I worked together at CCAA, where he excelled. I’m incredibly excited that he’s joining HVIA at a time when the heavy vehicle industry is facing significant regulatory and policy changes and, more than ever, requires robust advocacy in the halls of government at both state and federal levels,” he adds.
Similarly, Aaron says he’s really excited about joining the HVIA team and working with members in representing the industry and navigating challenges and opportunities the sector faces.
