The Brisbane Truck Show has been shortlisted for two awards in the 2019 Australian Event Awards.
National Finalists for the awards were announced today, with the truck show up for a gong in two award categories: Best Corporate Event and Best Exhibition, Trade or Consumer Show.
HVIA’s National Events Manager Noelene Bradley said the announcement should be enjoyed by all participants in the 2019 Brisbane Truck Show.
“The truck show is industry’s show,” Ms Bradley said. “We greatly enjoy working with our exhibitors to keep raising the bar in delivering a truly world-class event, so it is gratifying to receive this acknowledgement from the Australian events industry.
“In addition to the wall-to-wall showcase of innovative trucks, trailers, equipment and technology, the 2019 Brisbane Truck Show featured a wide range of exciting new initiatives – none more prominent than the addition of the new umbrella event —Australian Heavy Vehicle Industry Week.
“With so many exhibitors already holding dinners, drive days, factory tours and other activations around the city, this was a great opportunity to help them leverage those investments.
“The amazing displays in Queen Street Mall by the Daimler Truck & Bus and in Redacliff Place by the Volvo Group are two great examples.
“NatRoad brought their national conference to Brisbane as a brilliant value-add for attendees,” she added. “We introduced the new Jobs Hub and alongside it – the Technology and Innovation Centre.
“The South Bank Roadhouse has been an amazing addition to the show, allowing exhibitors to expand beyond the walls of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre and showcase their vehicles and their values to the broader community.
“The atmosphere along Little Stanley Street and Stanley Street Plaza was like a festival with the display, the entertainment and our visitors’ patronage of all the supporting South Bank precinct traders,” Ms Bradley said.
Following a rigorous first round of judging by event industry leaders and experts, the Brisbane Truck Show’s place amongst the National Finalists has the weight of Australia’s events industry behind it.
Entries are judged on all aspects of event management including best practice, innovation, marketing, stakeholder engagement and management, sustainability and event legacy.
Co-chair of the Event Awards Judging Panel Brenda LaPorte said:
“The Australian Events Industry is truly inspirational. From small events that draw together communities in regional towns to events that deliver marketing benefits to some of the biggest brands in the world, the finalists in this year’s awards have made a massive contribution socially, economically and environmentally to the fabric of our country.
“They are all to be congratulated for their achievements in making finalist and for making the job of the judging panel so very difficult in selecting the winner in each category.”
Winners of the Australian Event Awards will be announced at a ceremony in Perth on 18 September.
The Brisbane Truck Show will return to the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13 to 16 May 2021.
