Renewables Startup Showcase Apps Open

Calling all early-stage founders in renewable energy, clean tech and climate tech! Applications for the Australian Renewable Energy Agency’s (ARENA) sixth annual Renewables Startup Showcase close Monday, September 29.

The showcase, delivered in partnership with Innovation Bay, aims to spotlight the most innovative companies shaping the future of renewable energy – bringing together Australia’s most promising startups and top investors to supercharge growth and innovation.

It is more than a capital-raising opportunity, though. It’s a chance to gain national exposure, connect with leading investors, and be recognised as a changemaker in the future of energy.

Start-ups that have been featured at previous events have gone on to receive funding and sign on partners. For example, electrolyser technology developer and manufacturer Hysata, which featured at the 2023 event, received a $172 million investment from bp Ventures, Templewater and TelstraSuper.

Other featured start-ups include 5B, RayGen, MGA Thermal, Infravision, Renewable Metals, Sicona and Novalith – many of which have also recently closed additional funding.

Six successful applicants will earn the right to pitch their innovative ideas to a room full of investors at the ARENA Renewable Energy Showcase Gala Dinner happening in Melbourne on Tuesday, November 25.

In the four weeks leading up to the event they’ll also receive personalised pitch coaching and prep support – plus stage time in front of leading VCs, angels and strategic investors.

Successful applicants will be selected by an investment committee including leaders from venture capital, private equity, corporate innovation and high-impact angel groups.

Applications must be submitted by midnight on Monday, September 29. Submit your application here .

The Gala Dinner will feature a keynote presentation from ARENA CEO Darren Miller, a panel presentation from industry speakers (TBC), networking opportunities before and throughout the night – plus the six founder pitches. Tickets are available for purchase here.
