2023 updated pay guides

Earlier this month, the Fair Work Commission (FWC) announced a 5.75% increase to the national minimum wage (NMW) and a 5.75% increase to award minimum wages following its 2022-2023 annual wage review.

The minimum rates in these Guides apply to the Vehicle Repair, Services and Retail Award 2020 (Vehicle Award) and the Clerks Private Sector Award 2020 (Clerks Award) and are effective from the first full pay period on or after 1 JULY 2023.

These pay guides (Guide) provide a summary and general overview of some key entitlements (including pay, overtime, penalties, loadings and allowances) that apply to employees covered under the Awards.

Superannuation

The Superannuation Guarantee rate increases to 11% for payments of salary and wages from 1 July 2023.
The SG rate is scheduled to progressively increase to 12% by July 2025.

If you need help working out how much super you need to pay for your employees and eligible contractors after 1 July, you can use the ATO’s super guarantee contributions calculator.
