2019 Peter Langworthy Future Leader Award Winner

In honour of Peter Langworthy, HVIA Past President and industry leader, the Future Leader Award is in recognition of Peter’s long-standing commitment to the mentoring of young people and supporting their development to leadership roles.

The award acknowledges young people who have recently graduated from an apprenticeship and/or who have demonstrated outstanding leadership within their organisation or the industry.

The 2019 Peter Langworthy Future Leader Award was presented to Ryan Camera from Kennedy Trailers.

Ryan’s work ethic and knowledge, gained in such a short amount of time, allowed him to supervise himself and 2- 3 other workshop crew from the second year of his apprenticeship.

Ryan spent his 4th year managing jobs in the Kennedy Trailers machining shop, running his peers’ workload and being responsible for reporting directly to the management group about the area’s progress and improvements.

Ryan was a positive role model for the work experience students and first year apprentices supporting the initial stages of their development.

Ryan received support from HVIA and the Langworthy family to the value of $2,500, to assist with fees for a leadership or management course that he wishes to undertake.
