To compliment the advocacy work that HVIA engages in through advisory groups, technical working groups and face to face interaction with regulators also aims to influence the policy development processes of Government agencies through developing policy positions on particular issues.
In some cases, this takes the form of formal submissions to discussion papers released by the Government agencies but also, where appropriate, HVIA seeks to provide leadership in developing a safer, more productive heavy vehicle fleet through releasing its own policy positions.
